Bella rose, our newly adopeted Corgi Chihuahua

Meet Bella rose, our newly adopeted Corgi Chihuahua. We just so happened to be out at a cat store in Cambleford trying to find some toys for our abandoned kitten and sparked up a conversation with a fellow shopper. She mentioned how she was going for surgery and had to find a new home for her dog, so we offered to babysit while she was away, but she declined and said, "she just wants to find it a good home". WHAT PURE SERENDIPITOUS LUCK! Our previous dog had just passed away a week ago and we were pretty glum, as he had been apart of the family for a good 14-15 years.

The energy in this dog is unlike any other we've ever owned. She can jump like a show dog and is even pretty good around the kitten; which we were truly nervous about at first. I cant wait to start teaching her some tricks!
While she is friendly to us, she needs some work with strangers, as she can become very nervous around new people, especially around woman for some reason. She is fascinated with our ducks and rooster but hesitant of the goats. All in good time I suppose.

Abadndoed kitten, We shall call her..... Angel. 。^・ェ・^。

Well, how could anyone leave this poor little thing!?!

While outside cleaning up around the coop I heard a cry from the barn, when I went to investigate I found this little one screaming at the top of her lungs. "oh lord" I told my self, as this was the second kitten this year we've found abandoned; thankfully this time we knew what to do. I decided to give it till nightfall and see if momma comes back for her little one; no such luck. I decided "ok!, its time for you to come inside", as the raccoons would be out looking for dinner soon. Thankfully, this little puffball looked to be a few weeks older then the last cat we took in. This one was able to walk pretty well and  its eyes had matured slightly so it wasn't as blind'ish as the babies tend to be.
We had a can of formula leftover from the previous kitten and as soon as that was placed in front of her she dove in like it was swimming practice. She still puts both feet in her food every time we feed her, then runs off spreading little milked up paw prints all over the house.

Oh momma cat, how could you give this little munchkin up?

We figure we'll keep her inside till the spring and hopefully she'll be able to readjust to life with the other barn cats.

I'm not much of a cat person, but this little thing is starting to grow on me.

Lenz's law and my experiments with it.

In these videos I use an aluminum pipe with a neodymium magnet to demonstrate Lenz's law.

If you'd like to pick up some neodymium magnets to try this neat experiment out for yourself, I have found a great link for inexpensive magnets with free shipping on amazon, which I will post below.

Pumpkin Inferno! (^,,,^) Upper Canada Village (^,,,^)

Pumpkin Inferno
What a Halloween experience!
While haunted houses are a certain kind of fun, this festival gives you the opportunity to embrace Halloween in a much calmer relaxed fashion. An orange glimmer from the pumpkins creates an electroluminescent like feel, wrapping you in a warm glow of extremely creative and talented works of art. The drive to Upper Canada Village is quite easy, with signage spread along highway 401 and throughout the towns. A few things to remember on your trip.

1. A flash light
If you want to see the fish, which are monstrous! you will need a flash light or camera with good flash, I took both my Iphone and my Canon slr, the Iphone just couldn't get the job done.

2. Make sure to clear your memory card on your camera. There is A LOT of neat displays here, 100 pics of free space is just to little if you ask me.

To begin our journey click on the video below to add some Halloween themed music.
choose between the original or a piano version.

This is Halloween, this is Halloween, HALLOWEEN! HALLOWEEN!
Your underworld journey awaits!

Having pumpkins carved into such dramatic pieces of art affixed over top of water is magical.

Beavers and dam with loons swimming about.

While I love all animals, the loon is one of my favorites. When I think of wilderness in Canada, the loon and its call go hand in hand.

Honestly, this was pretty cool. I want one in front of my house!

They had a giant crossword made out of pumpkins! I dont know what it is about crosswords, but they hook me in every time.

Probably one of my better shots of the night. These are all raw tho, no photoshop done yet.

Its seemed to be one of those events where it just kept going, which in this case made it all the more worth it/amazing. So often you pay for something and are left wanting more at the end. This was one of those great occasions where you kept asking yourself around every corner,
"Holy jeez, there's more?"

I spent around 2 hours here, lol. Yes, a lot of that time was because of taking photos, but if I think about it, with no photos and just walking around, it would probably be a good hour+.
Definitely worth the money in my opinion.

I like this shot, with a little cropping and sharpening I think it will come out nice.

Your waiter for the evening. In all seriousness tho, they do have some type of restaurant available ( only heard about it, never went in), along with a few hot chocolate/snack shacks and a main store selling everything from ground flour to witch brooms and old time memorabilia. I must say, the store is beautiful, nice and bright, full of machine's from yesteryear and lots of neat things.

BE FOREWARNED!

Children lose there minds here. There is so much neat stuff that everywhere you turn you'll hear kids asking.

"Mom/Dad, can we buy something?"

I heard it asked a million times while there, lol

This is what I was excited to see, the history of the ford motor car.

Beautiful!. With the constellation above, it almost sends the pic into an other worldly/spiritual vibe that can have you lost in its depth.

What a night!

So, after a million pictures later, I highly recommend a visit to this enchanting place.  The Pumpkin inferno night is something to not pass up. From what I understand it gets bigger every year, and with something like 6000 pumpkins lit up this year, I can only imagine they'll be setting a record soon.
Cant wait for next year!
